The outer part of the material.

This is how we separate outer part from Mitsumata bark to make white material.

When we do same step to Kozo bark we just use simple knife, but to Mitsumata bark the special tools is used because Mitsumata has branches which every one goes three ways and the top of them are thin. (“Mitsu” of Mitsumata means “three”)

The separated outer part is also going to be a decent amount, but don’t worry. We use this part fro the paper too.
