study diary part3
I collected some kozo branches to make my own paper. Summer is not the usual time for the kozo harvest, so the fiber won’t be perfect.
Still, I wanted to have a full and authentic papermaking experience and take advantage of the rare opportunity of harvesting my own kozo while I’m here, and completing the papermaking process from start to finish on my own.
The fibers of this kozo turned out to be very long and stiff, which made sheet making a little difficult. We’ll see how the sheets turned out once they are pressed and dried!
