A day of gentle relaxation in a Japanese paper village

Enjoy a relaxing time in the quiet countryside surrounded by nature. Relax and forget about your daily routine while feeling the Japanese paper.

The room

Room with Japanese paper

The interior of the building is an artistic space surrounded by washi paper interiors. Guests also enjoy the architecture, which is designed to show off the wood. It is a special space that many people comment is “wonderful” the moment they enter the room.

Washi paper has the power to make you feel connected to history and nature, and it gives you a sense of calm.

Indoor terrace

The terrace on the first floor is the guest’s living and dining area, where you can comfortably enjoy the rural mountain atmosphere to the fullest.

Being surrounded by satoyama woodlands and making simple meals and feeling closer to nature and human activities will make your stay even more special.

Spacious floor plan

The guest rooms are located on the second floor of the workshop. There are two independent Japanese-style bedrooms, and the bath, toilet, and washroom are all separate, so small groups can stay in luxury, and large groups can enjoy privacy.

Please take a look at Google Street View. (The terrace on the first floor looked like before the walls and floor were installed.)

Comments from guests who have stayed

The most beautiful guestroom we encountered so far! There are washi paper decorations everywhere and together with the warm hospitality and amazing green mountain view, it made us felt so calm and relaxed. You could even see the milky way at night! Everything was super clean and all amenities were available. We also did a short course on washi paper making, which was so interesting and fun to do! It was such a shame we couldn’t stay longer.

It’s the highlight of this trip to Japan. We enjoyed the paper making experience, the place and property. Dinner is not provided but you can bring your own food/meat to BBQ in the gorgeous outdoor kitchen. The view in the morning is unbelievable. Thank you for hosting us! 🙂
