For the last week, it has been raining nearly continuously. I have mostly been working inside in the studio make paper sample books and helping Rogier experiment with repurposed paper.
Here is a 100-year-old fusuma screen, which we soaked in water and then beat. We are hoping this will yield some good recycled paper.
On days off, I like to explore Yusuhara. The town is home to five buildings by the architect Kengo Kuma, one of which is the town’s library which is pictured below.
Yusuhara has some beautiful scenery as well.
